Tiny Clothes!

step one: pieces cut out for a tiny corset (this is my second attempt to make it fit...)
all sewn together - lots of hand stitching here
skirt : all made from a beautiful mauve duponi silk
pieces sewn together (following a full sized pattern as a reference)
skirt done, pleats set
I added small eyelets here in the back of the petite corset
front of corset (no arms yet but I will get to that next!)
she's looking a bit stressed - maybe its from all the pulling, sewing, and repainting I've been doing over and over...
I need to stop! Ok, arms next, attach the skit and finish the hem (I think I can do it!)

Art Doll!!

This is my first attempt at creating a doll from scratch (well, creating any doll for that matter...)  But I want to emphasize that I am starting with nothing and creating everything that constitutes a doll.  Big task!  I am also fairly new at using Paperclay as an art medium, but I absolutely adore the malleability and ease with which it can be manipulated when wet and then further manipulated with sandpaper when dry to create a smooth and "porcelain-like" finish.

bald head sculpted out of paperclay with glass eyes :)
this arm and hand took me all day!! but I think it turned out pretty good! Now to make one more just like it - ha!
head, torso and arm!
Yay for makeup and hair!
I wish I had taken more pictures while putting together the wig.  With some sewing skills and a little patience I think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt.  My doll is finally starting to look a little less scary!!! Hair is hand sewn mohair - the hair was super fun to do and really gave my doll some personality!

Now I just need to attach the legs and arms, make a dress, and give her a name!
What should I name her???
